Tech Assessment in the Mobile Age - Thoughts From the Trenches and Benches

The telehealth industry has seen explosive growth as technology continues its shift towards mobile platforms, and there is no sign of it slowing down any time soon. In this NRTRC webinar, the Telehealth Technology Assessment Center will talk about lessons learned on the TTAC test benches and in the mobile assessment trenches, discussing trends that are developing in the market, describing the complexity of assessing mobile products, and providing some recommendations for how to tackle technology assessment within the mobile space.
Presentation by: Garret Spargo
Garret Spargo is the director of the National Telehealth Technology Assessment Resource Center (TTAC) at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. At TTAC, Garret researches and evaluates technologies used in the delivery of telehealth services, then writes and presents extensively on his experiences. His interests span the anthropological and technological, including human-computer interaction, culturally-competent implementation of technology, and how technology is used by and for underserved populations. He received a BA in English from Seattle Pacific University and his MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago. He has 13 years of experience in telehealth, with a background spanning the testing and development of store-and-forward software and videoconferencing products, equipment selection and deployment, and, more recently, education and outreach on the topic of technology assessment.
