Technological advances have introduced new ways to facilitate patient engagement outside clinical settings and support health monitoring and promotion of wellness in home and community settings. This presentation discusses various applications such as “smart home” systems designed to promote safety, the use of digital phenotyping to enhance symptom management and sensing technologies to support independence. We discuss clinical, technical and ethical implications of these emerging digital health trends and address theoretical and practical safeguards for patients’ and families’ autonomy and privacy.

On November 15, 2021, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and JobsAct (Infrastructure Act or Act), which modifies and extends the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (EBB Program) to a longer-term broadband affordability program to be called the Affordable Connectivity Program (sometimes referred to as “ACP”). This webinar will discuss consumer and broadband provider information and resources and how to apply.
