Highlighted Speakers
Mei Kwong, JD
Executive Director, Center for Connected Health Policy
Ms. Kwong is a nationally recognized expert on telehealth policy. In her current role at the Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) she works with the organization’s multitude of national and regional partners on telehealth issues and oversees CCHP’s projects, provides policy technical assistance to state and federal lawmakers, industry members, providers, consumers and others. She manages CCHP’s staff and works closely with CCHP’s consultants. She has been published in peer review journals and is a sought after speaker at national conferences.
Prior to joining CCHP, Ms. Kwong was a public policy analyst for Children’s Home Society of California, working on child care and early education issues on the state and federal levels. She also worked extensively with the Child Development Policy Institute, a statewide public policy organization, and was recognized by them in 2004 for her work in the early care and education field. She was at the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts in Washington, DC working on federal tax issues, and administered the association’s political action committee. Ms. Kwong holds a BA in International Affairs from George Washington University, and a JD from George Washington University Law School.
John Scott, MD, MSc, FIDSA
Professor of Medicine, Chief Digital Health Officer at UW Medicine
John Scott, MD, MSc, FIDSA is a Professor of Medicine (Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) and Chief Digital Health Officer at UW Medicine. He graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology, attended Georgetown University School of Medicine cum laude, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Hospitals, and then obtained sub-specialty training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington. He joined the University of Washington faculty in 2005.
In 2009, he launched Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) in Washington State, the first place to replicate the ECHO model outside New Mexico. This innovative telehealth program helps clinicians serving in rural and underserved areas evaluate and treat common, complex, chronic diseases. In 2015, he won the Warren Reid Award for excellence in health care for the state of Washington, in recognition of his telehealth work. He chairs the Washington State Telehealth Collaborative and served on the Telehealth committee for the Infectious Disease Society of America. The Washington State Medical Association recognized him with the Grassroots Advocate Award in 2020 for his work advocating for telemedicine policy changes at the state and federal levels.
As Chief Digital Health Officer, he is focused on Virtual Care Delivery and developing a robust Digital Front Door to combine UW Medicine’s existing technologies, apps, and other digital services into a simple, single sign-on platform.
Krista Stadler RN, BSN, MHA
Healthcare Innovation Manager, Amazon
Krista Stadler is a distinguished innovator with a passion for improving healthcare access and experiences. With 18 years of experience in telehealth and virtual care, she has become a respected thought leader and influencer in healthcare innovation.
She is currently serving as Global Healthcare Innovation Manager at Amazon, where she is responsible for preventing, identifying, and managing non-communicable diseases for 1.5M Amazonians and their families around the globe. Before Amazon, she served as the Senior Director of Telehealth and Virtual Care for St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, where she was responsible for defining the system telehealth strategy and opening the first Virtual Hospital in Idaho.
Krista is highly regarded for her ability to design innovative solutions for complex healthcare problems. She has a track record of designing and launching new virtual care solutions that satisfy the patient, clinician and business needs. In 2021 she was recognized by Johnson & Johnson’s Center for Health Worker Innovation.
At the NRTRC 2024 conference, Krista will share her thoughts on the transformative journey of telehealth and her vision for the future. Stadler brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for innovation in healthcare, making her a valuable addition to the conference lineup.
Aaron Schill, MCRP
Director of Research and Programs, National Digital Inclusion Alliance
Aaron joined the NDIA team in January 2022. He is experienced at working with local leaders and elected officials to build consensus and develop place-based solutions to the most pressing community challenges. Throughout his career, Aaron has advocated for data and information access to empower communities to affect positive change. Prior to joining NDIA, Aaron was the director of data and mapping at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, where he headed the agency’s work in data analytics, visualization, and GIS. He also established the organization’s strategy and programming for broadband and digital inclusion and co-led the creation of the Franklin County Digital Equity Coalition. Aaron’s career experience includes working as an urban planner and research director primarily in public and nonprofit organizations. He is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University, with a master’s degree in city and regional planning and a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
